Have you ever begun a study of some subject thinking when you have finish you will draw a particular conclusion?\u00a0 We all read, write or listen certain biases or presuppositions.\u00a0 When\u00a0 the research is complete however something entirely different is discovered.\u00a0 Several years ago I set out to find what insight could be gleaned from the Bible concerning\u00a0the\u00a0characteristics of a godly person.\u00a0\u00a0There are many books and scores of articles written about this very subject,\u00a0 but as\u00a0usual\u00a0with my studies I believe te\u00a0best way to get mean for ones own life is to\u00a0dive in for yourself.\u00a0\u00a0This was not done to force my thoughts on the Scriptures but\u00a0to see what they had to say.\u00a0 Over a course of two years and making over 5000 notations, some as short as one word to others\u00a0several paragraphs long, and building a cross reference to all the key\u00a0qualities\u00a0I had my answer.\u00a0 There were two questions that I asked after finishing my work.\u00a0\u00a0The first was, can a person live such a life?\u00a0 The second was how to boil the entire exercise down to it very essence?\u00a0 The answer to the first that know man or woman, except Jesus,\u00a0could ever hope to live out a godly life on his or her\u00a0own.\u00a0 It takes the grace of God to overlook our many failures as we seek to serve Him.\u00a0\u00a0Someone asked\u00a0me the second question.\u00a0 My answer was that all the characteristics\u00a0led to the conclusion that the entire Bible is about loving God and loving man.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
